Durham Neighborhoods Go Hi-Tech
DURHAM (WPTF) - Durham is the first community in the Carolinas to use a new hi-tech device to help neighborhoods take care of potholes, overgrown empty lots and burned out streetlights. The city is putting a hand held computer with digital cameras into the hands of everyday citizens.
The neighborhood volunteer can record prioritize, and send problems to the city.

The computer also enables the user to access the work order to see what progress is being made getting the needed repairs done. The program's been a success in New York, Seattle, Philadelphia and other cities.
