The Car and the Profilometer that Measured the Surface of the City's Streets

	This car measured the surface of approximately 670 miles of New York City streets in 1999, with two profilometers – one attached to each side of the vehicle. The components of the profilometer are shown below: the laser, accelerometer and speed sensor.
