Bio

For more than two decades Dana Buchman led a multi million-dollar apparel company, which pioneered the way successful women looked and dressed.

Dana founded Promise Project, a non-profit whose mission is to provide disadvantaged children with learning disabilities the path to an education. In collaboration with Columbia Presbyterian, Promise Project operates a comprehensive program in Washington Heights that provides evaluations and advocacy so children can get the services they need in order to learn.

Dana wrote a book called A Special Education: One Family’s Journey through the Maze of Learning Disabilities about her daughter’s struggle with learning.

Dana Buchman attended Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design and earned an advanced degree in fashion at Central St. Martin’s School of Art in London. She serves on the board of Columbia University Medical Center, the Kate Spade Foundation, and is secretary of Fund for the City of New York.

Born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee, Dana is the mother of two daughters. She lives in downtown Manhattan.
