May 3-4, 2026 | Systemic Change: Leading the Future for our Youth in Oxford

• 2 Minutes

Leaders from across research, policy, education, and practice will convene in Oxford this May for Systemic Change: Leading the Future for our Youth—a global symposium focused on advancing opportunity and outcomes for justice-involved young people.

Hosted by the Center for Youth and the Future of Work, in partnership with exalt, the symposium will bring together cross-sector changemakers to explore evidence-based strategies and collaborative solutions that reduce recidivism, expand educational pathways, support successful reentry, and strengthen workforce mobility.

Participants will engage in curated panels and dialogue sessions addressing:

  • K–12 education and the justice system

  • Educational and economic mobility models for justice-involved youth

  • Cross-sector ecosystem partnerships

  • The future of work and youth opportunity

The convening will feature distinguished leaders including Dr. Lisette Nieves, President of the Fund for the City of New York and Co-Founder of the Center for Youth and the Future of Work; Dr. Noel Anderson, Clinical Professor at NYU Steinhardt and Center Co-Founder; and Dr. Gisele Castro, CEO of exalt, a national leader in alternatives to incarceration and workforce development.

Attendees are also invited to join a pre-symposium Oxford University walking tour and dinner on May 2, offering space for connection and shared learning ahead of the formal program.

As systems serving justice-involved youth face increasing complexity and urgency, this symposium aims to strengthen collaboration and chart a bold, actionable vision for the future.
