Bio
Before entering public administration, Beqa Mikadze earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, cum laude, from San Diego State University on a full academic scholarship. He later led engineering and product operations teams in New York, managing technology projects, developing financial models and performance dashboards, and improving organizational systems. His interests now include public finance, government budgeting, fiscal policy, and program evaluation, particularly how governments allocate limited resources and measure results. Beqa is currently interning with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission in New York, where he contributes to policy and market research. At Baruch College, he develops digital resources, process maps, and AI-assisted tools for the Office of the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs, Research & Innovation. As a research assistant, he also works with historical records from the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture and the New York City Municipal Archives. Originally from Georgia, Beqa hopes to work in government budgeting, public finance, and community-centered fiscal policy.
