Bio
Valeria Gyamerah earned a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies with a minor in Spanish from Temple University, where she studied how social, political, economic, and environmental forces shape cities and communities. Her experience in personal injury law gave her firsthand insight into how transportation systems, public infrastructure, and the built environment affect people’s everyday lives. Valeria has since supported Street Lab’s Soccer Streets program, worked with NYC Public Schools to help bridge language and literacy gaps, and currently contributes to expanding Citi Bike access through micromobility planning. In her free time, she advocates for safer street design, bus lanes, and daylighting through Riders Alliance and Transportation Alternatives. Her interests include zoning and land use, transportation planning, public space, and equitable community development. Outside of planning, Valeria enjoys exploring New York City’s neighborhoods, writing, attending live music events, reading novels, and biking.
