Bio
Olivia Cleaveland has contributed to tenant-led research on residents’ experiences following NYCHA redevelopment and to the Dismantling Disinvestment: Public Housing Archive. Her work focuses on affordable housing, public housing preservation, neighborhood-scale planning, and community-engaged research. At Pratt, she has worked on housing policy, land use, and development through partnerships with Mothers on the Move, the Williamsburg Houses Tenant Association, and the Pratt Center for Community Development. Before graduate school, Olivia worked in local government in Oregon, supporting housing and homelessness initiatives, public engagement, and policymaking. Originally from San Francisco, she is interested in combining policy analysis, writing, and storytelling to examine how planning decisions shape neighborhoods and the experiences of the people who live in them.
